If you or someone you support gets services through a regional center, there’s a way to share your experiences and help improve services and supports. The Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) is looking for new members!  Previously known as the Department’s Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC), the group is getting an update and growing.  LEAG brings together people who personally receive regional center services to give input directly to the Department.  LEAG members will help us understand what’s working, what needs to change, and how to make information easier to understand. The full LEAG will meet twice a year, either in person or online, for about two hours.  Between those meetings, smaller groups will meet to talk about topics like:
  • Helping people with disabilities find jobs
  • Improving how the Department measures service quality
  • Making data easier to understand and use
  • Using plain language in public information
  • Informing development of the Life Outcomes Improvement System (LOIS), the new case management system that will contain all information about individuals and their families
  • Creating peer-to-peer learning opportunities
  • Preventing abuse and protecting individuals
  • Giving input on service options available through regional centers
You don’t have to attend every small group meeting—just the topics that matter to you.  Participation is flexible and can be done by Zoom, email, or phone.
